Did anyone teach you how to save money?

How many people do you know who have debt? How many of your friends and family are living paycheck to paycheck? When you look around you it doesn't take long to see that most people struggle with money. And for good reason. Think about it. Did anyone teach you how to save money? Did anyone teach you how to manage money?

Most parents don't teach money because they're too busy working their asses off to pay the bills. Or, they don't have a balanced relationship with money and so what's to teach? And schools? C'mon. They have zero interest in teaching anything about money. So we're left to figure it out on our own, and guess what., that's a recipe for disaster.

Most people have to learn the hard way. They make mistakes, fall into debt, and wish they had learned financial literacy earlier in life. That's my exact story. I was raised in a family where money was always tight and never talked about. In my 20's I got my first credit card and of course I racked up a bunch of debt which stayed with me until my early 30's simply because I didn't know what I was doing.

Our lack of financial education has serious consequences. Without a basic understanding of money management, people are more likely to fall into debt, struggle with saving, and make poor financial decisions. It's up to us as individuals to take responsibility for our financial education and seek out resources to help us learn. Here are some benefits of doing so:

  1. You'll be better equipped to reach your financial goals.

  2. You'll feel more confident and in control of your money.

  3. You'll be less likely to fall into debt or make poor financial decisions.

  4. You'll be able to help others with their finances.

  5. You'll be able to make a positive impact on your community by making smart financial decisions.

While parents & schools might not be the best place to learn about money management, it's still a vital skill that everyone can benefit from learning. And the good news is, it's not too late. You can learn about personal finance and investing. You can take control of your money and your future. And while most would tell you it's not easy, I say it's incredibly easy! If you'd like to learn how, keep reading!

I struggled with money for the 1st half of my adult life and it was zero fun. By the time I was in my mid 30s I was in debt, trapped in the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle and completely overwhelmed by money stress.I was sick & tired of feeling sick & tired and so I took action and changed my situation by creating The Big Split method. It's a simple way to save money, have more money available for the things you love, get rid of debt and never budget again! In conclusion, it's time for us to take control of our financial education. We can't rely on schools or our parents to teach us everything we need to know. But that doesn't mean we can't learn. Let's empower ourselves with knowledge and take control of our money and our future.
